A little quote from my favorite Vulcan. Logically, it is very true. If you don't have any feelings about the person insulting you....the insults shouldn't be effective.
However, that is rarely ever the case. We have a need to be accepted. Negative or mean comments, especially insults, are almost always hurtful, no matter how we feel about the person slinging the words. Even random people do damage with their nasty comments. I wish this wasn't the way of it.
This stamp wasn't prompted by any negative comments or anything, I just wanted to do a "quote" stamp using Spock and this is one of the quotes of his I liked.
